My Top 4 Autumn Staples

Even though I tend to buy lots of clothes *I can't help it a) I'm a girl and b) I work in fashion!* I always find that season by season there are a few key things that are absoltely staple in my wardrobe that I wear the whole time, that go with every outfit, that I basically use everyday. Other things come and go but these will last me without fail, and I'm starting to find that I use them year after year as well. I never was really into the 'investment' buy, as mostly I never had the money to spend anyway, but as I have been working for a few years now I've started to realise that spending that little bit more on things can actually pay off as the quality means that the pieces will last a long time if you take care of them properly. So I thought I would show you the pieces that I will be wearing week after week this Autumn Winter.

This season I have splurged on something I have wanted since February - when I saw the Burberry models strutting their stuff down the runway in all manner of shearling and aviator pieces. I remember posting on my Facebook a letter to Santa requesting a Burberry aviator jacket well in advance. *Sadly* Santa told me it probably wouldn't be possible, especially when he found out they were over £2k a pop! I knew the high street would be swarming with their own interpretations, so I took my time and did a lot of research. I wasn't sure whether to opt for a cheaper synthetic version, or splash out on a leather or sheepskin one. I decided that as I had been lusting over this piece for well over 6 months and it was the only thing that I really wanted, I would splash, and when I saw my jacket in Topshop about a month ago, it truly was love at first sight (even if my credit card silently squealed as I handed it over to the cashier). Its a sheepskin beauty with a dark/grey collar and it truly makes me happy just seeing it hanging up in my wardrobe (its the little things in life).

My beloved Kurt Geiger biker boots were a splurge last autumn, I saw them featured in an editorial in Glamour magazine, and they are so comfortable, and look equally good with jeans and a tee, or to toughen up a girly dress. I honestly wouldn't be without them now, have had to get them reheeled and the soles stuck down a few times because I wear them so much!
Photobucket
My number 1 love of my wardrobe is my All Saints leather jacket. This baby has been worn almost every day of my life since we met that fateful day in All Saints Westfield in the summer of 2009. My darling coat gets softer and softer every month and truly goes with any and every outfit I wear. The lining in the sleeves has started to fall apart so I need to give some much needed TLC!

My bag of AW (probably subject to change here and there if I am honest) is my Coco bag by Alexander Wang. Depsite being a little bit of a weighty lady (those studs are NOT light!) she does the business no problem, and perfectly compliments my boots and jackets. I love her!!

With these pieces I really do structure all my outfits around them as they go with my girly dresses, and also with leggins/jeans and tees...basically all I wear!
Do you have any staples that last you season to season?

A Little Superdrug Spree

Happy Sunday lovelies!
On Friday night I stopped off in Oxford Street on my way home to get my Mummy a birthday pressie, and picked up a few things in Le Superdrug along the way!
Photobucket
I purchased two nail varnishes - I went to a wedding on Saturday and wanted to paint my nails and hadn't got any of my varnishes with me so decided to buy two of the cheapest ones I could find - so I went for this grey one (can't remember what concession it was from) but it was about £1.50 and then I spotted a line called Make Up Academy where everything was £1 and decided to pick up this pink colour. I wore the grey in the end - my nails are awful - short and stubby as I bite them, so nail colour looks pretty bad on me most of the time, but this turned up ok although it was a bit watery on application. I jazzed them up with some of the nail stickers and was quite happy with the result!

Last but not least I picked up two appealing kits from the Scarlett and Crimson line, which has been created by Ruby and Millie for a younger target group - but I love anything with fun packaging like this so I couldn't resist. I bought some blotting tissue paper (for those oily T-Zone days) and an eye lash curling device (haven't used one for years) that also came with an eye brightening pencil. Kitsch!

And that was it, a few little treats to cheer me up!

Could This Be A Small Miracle? Apple Cider Vinegar for Acne

Hello any fellow acne/break out sufferers!
And hello any non-acne sufferers as well :)

Today I am going to writing about a wonderful discovery to help calm down any sore, itchy, generally nasty break outs and problem areas. I know how horrible it is to suffer from acne, as I have had bad skin since I turned 13. It can be so hard to deal with, and so embarassing. My skin got so much better when I went on the pill, but I came off it about a year ago and since then its gradually got worse and worse. I was complaining about my skin on twitter when one of my lovely twitter friends Carly @millmo7 recommended I try using a solution of Apple Cider Vinegar and water (50/50) as a toner on my skin, after cleansing. I had never even heard of apple cider vinegar, but I duly trotted off to Sainsbury's and found a bottle! I have been using it most nights on my skin, and despite the smell of vinegar on my face, I am full of praise for this! From the first night I used it my skin calmed down straight away, and I did have very bad breakouts around my chin/mouth area and also on my cheeks (very sad and bad times). When my skin started to get better I stopped using it, but my skin got worse when I stopped so I have started using it again tonight and it has already calmed down as I am writing this. My Mum even commented tonight that it looked better. By no means expect all your spots to disappear if you try this, but it really has helped mine a lot by just calming my breakouts down and making them less painful and easier to cover up. This is one home remedy that I will be recommending to everyone!

Do you have any tips on how to deal with acne/break outs?

Mac Haul - Haute & Naughty Lash, Lipsticks - Snob, St. Germain and Superior

Good afternoon :)
I have had a rather lacklustre week, so I thought I would cheer myself up with a little splurge in Mac. I saw their mascara named 'Haute and Naughty Lash' and was immediately in love with the packaging - pink and purple glittery lid anyone!? I also decided to try out some new pink lipsticks so I purchased Snob, St. Germain and Superior.

Haute & Naughty Lash is a two in one mascara, with either 'a naturally defined' or 'full-on dramatic'look. There is one brush, that gets either fully loaded with mascara, or stripped rather bare for the au naturel look. I previously did a video on the Rimmel 1 2 3 mascara which is similar, I ended up only using number 3 for the most dramatic look though. I have just used this mascara, and I already LOVE it. The brush is lovely to use and I had no problem with getting mascara all over my eye lid which happens with my Opulash as the wand is quite big. It gave a lovely natural look after a few coats. I used the full on effect on my other eye (don't worry I am not going out like this!) and its great - I love wearing false eyelashes and this is a great mascara to wear if you don't have time/don't have the inclination for falsies because you can create a really thick, dark look with it especially if you put a few coats on.

As for the lipsticks, I started with Superior. This is a 'sheer lavender pink with dazzle pink pearl' which I'm sure you'll agree sounds absolutely divine! This is a lovely shimmery pink which is quite subtle on the lips but when its caught in the light looks gorgeous as you can see the sparkles. Snob is a satin finish lipstick described as 'a ladylike mauve', and St. Germain is an amplified cream described as 'clean pastel pink'. I know these two are classics and don't need to much said about them, but I felt I needed to try them out as I never have before!

Big Loves: Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Products

Hi lovely readers :)

I just wanted to do a really quick post on a couple of products that I've been using a lot recently that are GREAT! I have quite thin dry hair, and get split ends quite easily. I was quite wary of using Herbal Essences as I used to be allergic to it (many many years ago!).

Photobucket

Anyway thought I would give these two a try as I had heard good things about them, and I haven't been let down. The intensive mask I use once a week, it smells delicious, of course! It leaves my hair feeling SO soft which I love. The leave in conditioner also leaves my hair smelling amazing, and its nice to feel like I am giving some extra TLC where I wouldn't normally.

So a big thumbs up for these two beauties, I would most definitely recommend them if you haven't tried before!

My Best Friends Wedding!

Yesterday one of my best friends in the whole world got married. I met her at school when we were both 14, and have been friends ever since. We've been through EVERYTHING together, and her wedding yesterday was such a wonderful, emotional day. She looked breath taking, and I was just so proud of her. I know her and her new husband are going to be so happy together and he will take care of her forever. The only sad thing is now she is moving to Leicester to live with him, so I won't get to see her as much anymore. I'm so happy she is getting to start a new life with him and I really couldn't be filled with more joy for them! The wedding was so colourful, some of the dresses the other guests were wearing were works of art in themselves! My friend told me the henna on her arms alone took nearly 7 hours to do - I can't imagine how many more hours were spent on her adornments!

I got a new app on my iphone that lets you self time photographs so I can finally do some proper outfits shots. It was my first try out yesterday, and although I'm pleased with the pictures the colours aren't very vivid so I have had a little play around with that to make the colours on my dress to stand out a bit more. My outfit is absolutely boring compared to everyone elses' at the wedding, but here it is anyway, and then there is a photo of me and another school friend with the happy couple!

Enjoy :)
